It’s not every day that the world you have a personal passion for AND your work world intertwine – but that’s exactly what’s happening for me right now at The Forge.

For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to work with chefs and restaurants: I’ve written reviews, been fortunate enough to visit some amazing restaurants and even done a food writing course in the hope that a side hustle might turn into a regular thing.

So imagine my joy when we started working with one of this year’s MasterChef TV semi-finalists, Alexandra Talbot.

Fresh out of the competition, Alex was looking to raise her profile and kick-start a new career as a professional chef – including private dining, brand partnerships, events and menu development.

We landed her an amazing profile piece and interview slot in Beautiful South magazine this month, which has just hit the newsstands.

She’s now launching her new venture, SALT Kitchen, with fellow MasterChef contestants Stephen Ford, from Caerphilly, Wales, and Thomas Elson-Knight, from Plymouth, Devon. This trio of MasterChef success stories will come together to launch a series of pop-up restaurants and supper clubs across the UK this summer – developing modern cuisine and serving up new and exciting dishes for their fans.

We can’t wait to be there with them.
